Foundation Crisis.

I know its been a long long time since my last post.... (3 months)

Oops.

I have absolutely no excuse, I've just been a bit lazy... and had a bit of bloggers block.
I had a few blog ideas over Christmas that I tried to write.. but nothing that I was happy enough with to post.

Now, If you know me personally, you'll know that I swear by Estee Lauder's Double Wear foundation. I have used it for the past five years since I hit the hormones and developed quite a bad case of acne. Double Wear was the only foundation that not only covered my acne, but completely evened out my reddish, uneven skin-tone.

I loved Double wear because they had a variety of different shades and with me being extremely pale, its sometimes difficult to find something that doesn't look too orange or yellow.

I have never come across a foundation anywhere near as good, until now...

   Double Wear - Bone

Recently, Estee Lauder discontinued the shade 'Shell'
I was in complete shock as it was their lightest shade.. and the one that I have used for years.
The sales assistant in both Boots and Debenhams both pointed me towards the next shade up (bone), which I bought and hated because it was just too orange.

I freaked out a bit and for that reason I started to look else where.. and came across Maxfactor Face Infinity (liquid foundation) in shade Light Ivory.

I absolutely LOVE it.
Double wear is famous for lasting all day and all night, it is thick and once its on, it takes a good make up remover to get it off... although Face Infinity doesn't last as long, it's the closest thing I've found, and it actually has some attributes that I prefer to Double wear.

Firstly, because it isn't as thick, it goes on much nicer than Double Wear and you feel no where near as caked. Also, I have quite dry skin, especially around my nose and chin, and Double Wear never done it any justice, causing my skin to look flaky even after exfoliating and moisturising.

The shade Light Ivory is MUCH lighter than Bone, Less orange/yellow and the bottle is a tad bigger than Double Wear.

It claims to be a primer, foundation and concealer all in one and I must say the coverage is good, as it covers redness and any spots. It stays on most of the day, with a few tops ups needed around the areas you touch most (around the mouth, nose etc) but other than that, the staying power is really good.

The best part is that it is only £11.99 in boots...which A LOT cheaper than Double Wear at £27.50.

Sadly, Estee Lauder have lost a loyal customer... but finding Face Infinity has made it so much easier and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cheaper foundation with the same quality and coverage as designer brands.
